
Frozen and refrigerated cargoes have long been its specialist area and TCS acts as the UK hub for temperature controlled food. The facility, which can accommodate over 1,300 reefer containers, imports meat and dairy produce from New Zealand, as well as fruit and vegetables from South America, Australia and South Africa.
The terminal has its own HMC/Port Health examination facility, which is approved, and fully complies with the provisions of EU veterinary directives for the importation of animal products. Several cold rooms enable refrigerated containers to be inspected whilst maintaining the integrity of the cargo at all times.
