
The CNS Inventory Control system provides TCS and its stakeholders: such as regulatory bodies (including HM Revenue & Customs and Port Health), shipping lines, freight forwarders and enhanced remote transit sheds (ERTS) with the means to achieve customs clearance and ensuring that goods can move smoothly through TCS.
Facilitating trade through the UK frontiers involves many stakeholders working together in cooperation. For CNS, and our customers, this involves working with UK terminals, ports and airports, government agencies and departments, trade associations and international organisations.
CNS CompassThe new inventory control system, CNS Compass, will replace the current CNS Inventory Control System. CNS Compass replicates the functionality of the current system but with new and easy to use screens.

Monitor Progress of Principal’s Cargo
The CNS Inventory Control system can be used to monitor the progress of their principal’s cargo through the port or terminal, i.e. when the cargo is offload from the ship or if there are any regulatory inspection.
Import and Export Declarations
Completion of import, export and Customs Freight Simplified Procedure (CFSP) declarations for goods moving through UK frontiers.
Customs Clearances
Obtain electronic customs clearances through a direct link to CHIEF.
Deliveries
Arrange pick-up and delivery of consignments through automatic PIN release.
Movements in Temporary Storage
The CNS Inventory Control system allows the movement of goods between inventory linked sites.
Transit Movements
Goods moving under bond must be entered in EU NCTS, and moved between locations controlled by the CNS Inventory Control system.
