New Straddle Carriers Arrive at TCS

As part of the ongoing investment program at TCS and as a sign of our shareholders commitment to the  long term future of the terminal, TCS has today taken delivery of the first two of six new straddle carriers from the manufacturers, Kalmar.  Once constructed and tested, the carriers will be seamlessly integrated into the remainder of the TCS straddle carrier fleet, which will now total 45 units.  Of particular interest is the sixth “hybrid” carrier to be delivered, that will benefit from revolutionary technology enabling it to use substantially less power than a normal straddle carrier and therefore reduce the amount of CO2 emissions.  This also fits with TCS’ ISO14001 accreditation and our commitment to innovate whilst always offering our customers the highest levels of service possible.
