Over its history of growth and expansion, ownership of the port has also changed.
- OCL absorbed ACT(A) and became P&O Containers
- Associated British Ports, joint owners of Southampton Container
Terminal with P&O, became a new partner
- In the late 1990s Forth Ports, owners of the Port of Tilbury London
Ltd. as well as possessing several Scottish port interests, became
the third shareholder
- Simultaneously, P&O Containers' interest was assigned to the
organisation's specialist division, P&O Ports Ltd. This is now part of
DP World
These three shareholders possess almost unrivalled experience and
expertise in designing, owning and operating ports and terminals
worldwide:-
- DP World is one of the largest marine terminal operations in the
world, with 44 terminals and 13 new developments accross 28
countries
- ABP manages and operates more than 20 UK facilities
- Forth Ports operates 7 ports in the UK
- These combined strengths and abilities make TCS ideally placed to
meet the changing demands and challenges of the industry.
