TCS
has a combined quay length of 1,185 metres, 600 hundred
of which are on the riverside. A total of eight modern gantry cranes are available, six of which are
located on the riverside berths. Four of them have a
SWL of 60 tonnes, twin
lifting capability, and outreaches of up to 50 metres and air drafts
of up to 36 metres above quay. The remaining cranes
can all lift up to 35 tonnes, increasing to 40 tonnes by use of a heavy
lift beam. They have a maximum outreach of 36 metres.

The
yard is serviced by a fleet of modern diesel/electric straddle
carriers. There is little, in terms of size, or weight,
that the terminal cannot handle, either directly, or
by specialised sub-contractors.
|
 |
The
terminal has its own HMC/Port Health examination
facility, which is approved, and fully complies with
the provisions of EU veterinary directives for the importation
of animal products. Several cold rooms enable refrigerated
containers to be inspected whilst maintaining the integrity
of the cargo at all times.
|
 |
TCS
has a comprehensive computer system, using the NAVIS
Sparcs (TM) system for ship and yard planning and for
RDT (Radio Data Transfer) control of straddle carriers.
Standard EDI messaging facilities are available, for
example COARRI (Vessel/Load discharge), CODECO (Gate
In/Gate Out), and COPARN (Export Executive Information).
|
 |
TCS
is linked to the PLA
PACE community computerised system, and as a
consequence can provide HMC DTI NES clearances automatically,
if required. |
